1047 Games, the developer of a game named Splitgate, announced that it has raised $10 million in a recent funding round.

The company said that this investment will be used to increase the server capacity and availability of Splitgate, a free-to-play shooter. In addition, their investment will also be used to expand the development team.

The funding round was led by Human Capital. This funding round, with which the company left with $10 million, follows up on the previous funding round, which raised $6.5 million earlier this year.

The open beta of the Splitgate game was played by more than two million players, and seeing so many players together also shows that the company needs to strengthen the servers in order to ensure the continuity of its existing servers. In response, 1047 Games delayed the game’s official release to August to account for its online traffic.

Following this funding round, Ian Proulx, Co-Founder and CEO of 1047 Games, commented:

“Our team was stunned by the incredible welcome the Splitgate community has shown us. With the rapid and sudden increase in players trying to access servers, we need to resolve the numerous technical issues that come with the insane growth at this level.”
