Azur Games sold all its shares in Russian and Belarussian studios

The company says it has “divested its stakes in Russian game development studios to focus on other markets.”

Cyprus-based Azur Games sold all its shares in Russian and Belarussian video game companies, in order to “focus on other markets.” The mobile video game maker and publisher has been shifting its focus to other markets across the globe indeed, having recently acquired 30% of French mobile game studio Pinpin Team, and the company also acquired 81% of the development team of Mushroom Wars from Zillion Whales.

The mobile gaming giant published an official press release today, stating that all shares were acquired by each company’s respective management following the company’s relocation program. The following companies bought their shares back from Azur Games;

  • Russia: Ural Games, Sibir Games, Sarafan, Last Level
  • Belarus: Oasis Games and AGB

According to the official announcement, studios from other countries who also participated in Azur’s relocation program are still partnered with the mobile games maker.

Dmitry Yaminsky, Azur Games Co-Founder shared the following message:

“As an international publisher, we try to build an effective way to interact with partners, and help developers relocate to different countries. Several teams have already taken advantage of the program, and our relationships with them continue to strive.”

Azur Games purchased shares of Israeli studio KobGames and Skyrocket back in 2021 as well.
