The newly released Netflix web series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (a standalone animation that takes place in the Cyberpunk universe) brought existing players back to CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and immensely increased the sales figures of the game. Per the official social media channels of CDPR, Cyberpunk 2077 now sold over 20 million copies worldwide and regularly records over one million players in-game on a daily basis since the release of the “Edgrerunners” update.

Despite experiencing numerous setbacks and hiccups along the way, the bulk of the revenue for the Polish game maker in 2022 came from Cyberpunk 2077. Both the sales numbers and playtime saw a decent hike following several content updates since the release, but Edgerunners’ impact (and the in-game content update, of course) has been at a different level so far.

The polish gaming company resumes work on Cyberpunk 2077 on all fronts, as expectedly, and aims to release a new story expansion dubbed Phantom Liberty. The new expansion will have Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand back in the steering wheel as he’ll continue V’s story; however, Phantom Liberty won’t be available on older generation consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 will also support DLSS 3.0, Nvidia’s newest AI-powered real-time frame generation technology. DLSS 3.0 will be a unique feature for the new RTX 40 Series GPUs.
