Devcom 2020 plans are still in full swing regardless of coronavirus

Devcom 2020, the official game developer conference of Gamescom plans are still taking place despite COVID-19 (coronavirus). Many events cancellations happened in the past weeks, that’s why people were wondering about this event. The team behind the conference assures attendees that it’s still going as they believe that the outbreak will ease.

On their official website, organizers said that they are receiving many enquirers about the fate of the event. That’s why they released the following statement:

We expect the situation to ease considerably in the five months leading up to devcom, and are confident that devcom will go ahead on schedule from 22 to 24 August 2020. We are especially happy about all the positive feedback we’re receiving from many of our partners and speakers who are looking forward to the conference and have firmly scheduled for it to go ahead.

The team also reassures that you don’t have to worry about devcom tickets. If there’s any change in devcom 2020 plans, you will get a full refund for your purchased tickets. White Nights Conference CEO Summit Barcelona will not take place in 2020 as planned too. The team behind it introduced a new digital platform called WN Hub to host meetings and such. Pocket Gamer will also host its first digital conference on the 6th of April. Bafta Game Awards also going digital beside Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
