Gearbox Entertainment announced that it has acquired Lost Boys Interactive. The purchase price was not disclosed. The two companies had previously worked together on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a Borderlands spinoff.

Lost Boys Interactive was founded in 2017 and has been involved in various projects until today. The company has developed its own games so far and has been involved in developing titles such as Call of Duty and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

After the acquisition, Lost Boys Interactive will continue to operate autonomously, but its priority will be contributing to future Gearbox games as a subsidiary of Gearbox. As part of the agreement, Shaun Nivens, CEO of Lost Boys Interactive, will continually report developments regarding his company’s work to Gearbox Software President Steve Jones.

Shaun Nivens made the following statement on the subject:

“We founded Lost Boys with a dream to work on products that would be globally recognized and loved. We’re incredibly excited to join Gearbox and continue doing what we do best — making amazing games that entertain and inspire others.”

Lost Boys currently has 220 employees. Together with these employees, Gearbox has reached 1300 people in total. It is aimed to increase the number of employees of the company to 350 by 2024.
