According to the latest figures offered by Safe Betting Sites, the Indian market reached a massive 6.86 billion downloads on the Google Play Store in the third quarter of 2021. Right after, Brazil took second place.
In the third quarter of 2021, India reached 6.86 billion downloads on Google Play. Accordingly, a 10.8% year-over-year decline is observed in India’s downloads. While noting that Google Play downloads suffered an overall decline, India was the country that suffered the most significant decline.
The study notes that these declines in numbers are due to the massive impact of COVID-19 on 2020 downloads.
Brazil became the second country with the highest number of downloads on Google Play, with 2.45 billion in the third quarter. In the same quarter of 2020, there were 2.63 billion downloads, so if you look at these numbers, there is a 6.9% decrease. Indonesia, in third place, had 1.77 billion Google Play downloads, down 2% year-over-year.
The United States took fourth place on the list with 1.35 billion downloads. The U.S. had 1.86 billion downloads on the App Store in the same quarter of 2020. It is the only country on this list to have dropped in numbers two years in a row. The U.S. market had also seen a decline in 2020 figures. This trend is a testament to the disrupted Google Play market across the country.
Russia ranks last among the five countries with the most downloads on Google Play in the third quarter of 2021. The Russian market recorded 1.12 billion downloads, a decrease of 2.9% compared to 1.15 billion downloads.
