According to the latest data published by Sensor Tower, consumer spending on mobile devices reached $111 billion in 2020.

Total revenue from Google Play and the App Store broke a record, up 30.2 percent from the previous year. When we look at the data on a store basis, we see that Apple’s showcase earned $72.3 billion, up 30.3 percent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the Android store grew by 30 percent to $38.6 billion.

TikTok was the most lucrative application in the App Store among non-game applications. The application grew 600 percent year-on-year, earning $ 1.2 billion on iOS.

We announced that in 2020, when more than expected numbers were spoken, five mobile games generated more than $1 billion in revenue. The mobile games category peaked last year, with $79.5 billion in revenue in both stores globally, up 26 percent Y/Y. This figure represents 71.7 percent of all in-app spending, 65.8 percent of total iOS revenue and 82.6 percent of total Google Play revenue.
