Each month, the insights company SensorTower reports top mobile games by worldwide revenue. May 2020 ended almost 10 days ago so without further due, let’s talk about the most grossing mobile games. Tencent’s PUBG Mobile generated more than $226 million in user spending and got the first place in overall revenue. Furthermore, 53 percent of the game’s revenue was from China. The United States follows with 10.2 percent and Saudi Arabia closes the top three with 5.5 percent.
Here are the most grossing mobile games for May 2020
As we mentioned above, Tencent generated the most revenue on Android and iOS with PUBG Mobile. In the second place, Tencent comes again with Honor of Kings that generated about $204.5 million in gross revenue. Almost all of the game’s player-base (95 percent to be exact) are from China. The massively multiplayer game Roblox sits in third place while Mixi’s Monster Strike follows on fourth. Coin Master by Moon Active closes the top five. Other than that, we also knew that Niantic’s Pokemon GO had its best month when it comes to revenue since September 2019. It made $82.2 million in May 2020 which is an increase of 45.5 percent YoY from the same month last year. According to SensorTower, the changes that Niantic made to encourage the people to stay home contributed to the success it had.
What else happened in May 2020?
Alibaba’s Three Kingdoms Strategic had its best month ever since it was released in September 2019. It’s worth mentioning that the game is only available in China. It generated $84.4 million in user spending in the last month. Overall generated revenue for Three Kingdoms Strategic is almost $500 million, right now it’s sitting on $491.4 million.
