Nifty Games announce NFL Clash and raise $12M in funding

Nifty Games, the mobile developer, and publisher who focuses on quick-session sports games announced NFL Clash. It’s a licensed mobile-first football game that is coming later this year. Besides that, the team secured more than $12 million in Series A funding, with $15 million raised to date. The round was led by seed round investor March Capital Partners. Previous investors aXiomatic Gaming and Defy Partners also participated. New investors include Vulcan Capital, Courtside Ventures, Transcend Fund, Century Game, and more.

NFL Clash is Nifty Games’ first title

NFL Clash is an “innovative take” on mobile football games. It’s going to give NFL fans a new way to play head-to-head football game in quick-sessions. Usually, mobile sports games have been casual mini-games or console ports. Therefore, Nifty Games aims to deliver the fans fast yet deep gameplay designed for mobile.

In the press release, Rachel Hoagland, Vice President, Head of Gaming and eSports for the NFL said the following:

The NFL has always been keenly aware that a large portion of our fanbase loves to engage our sport through video games. We’ve looked to bolster our offering on mobile devices and are thrilled at the built-for-mobile clash-style gaming that Nifty Games will deliver to our fans.

The Series A funding gives us the capital to continue to build great games and recruit top talent in the business as we ramp up to deliver the most authentic quick play sports games that today’s mobile gamer deserves”.
