Roblox announced at the Roblox Developer Conference that in-game ads would be available next year. Roblox, which has hosted millions of players and dominated charts for a long time, will now present various ads to users.

In the statement made at the conference, the following words were given by Roblox:

“Brands and developers alike will be able to build never-before-seen ad experiences on Roblox, including portals that can seamlessly transport users back and forth between experiences. This will create new opportunities for developers to generate revenue and enable brands to reach their communities more effectively.”

These ads, which disturb users less and have a minimal impact on the game, will be presented to users through various tools such as billboards, posters, and walls. So unlike interstitial and rewarded ads, the game experience will not be interrupted.

Although Roblox did not fall from the charts and had a large player base, it reported a loss of $176 million in the second quarter of this year. While the company experienced revenue growth, it experienced declines on many other scales. About three weeks ago, gamified social events creator TriplePlay was acquired by Roblox.

A report published by Anzu, the leading in-game advertising platform, revealed that 75% of American gamers approached in-game ads positively. Previously, big names such as HTC and NBCUniversal had invested in these in-game advertising technologies. In the future, it is possible to see most advertisements of this type.
