Games operations led the firm’s revenue, generating $315.5 million, marking a 7% year-over-year increase. Gross bookings for the year rose 4.7 percent year-over-year to $310 million.

Rovio’s CEO Alex Pelletier-Normand stated the following about the success of Q4:

“Our full-year and Q4 profitability and cash flow remained at a good level. Despite the second year of pandemic and changes in the marketing landscape driven by Apple’s new privacy framework, we performed well.”

The top three games of Rovio, Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Friends, and Angry Birds Dream Blast, grew yearly. Since it was launched back in 2019, Dream Blast has surpassed $200 million in player spending and seems to be as steady as it gets for the firm as we advance.

This achievement was driven by the excellent performance of our critical live games, especially Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Friends, and the acquisition of Ruby Games.”
