Skillz adds Alex Mandel to its board of directors

The experienced executive previously worked as CFO in several high-profile companies.

Mobile games platform Skillz has announced that Alex Mandel has joined its board of directors. The company stated that Mandel will serve on the audit committee of the board.

The experienced executive is set to replace Vanna Mehta-Krantz, who is stepping down to focus on other work commitments. Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz, made comments on the recent move:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Alex Mandel to our board. His decades of financial experience, coupled with a deep understanding of user acquisition, will be invaluable as we build the future of our company.”

Mandel currently operates as CFO of The Influential Network, a privately-held influencer marketing company. Previously, Mandel served as CFO of Fluent, IAC Applications, and LendingTree. At LendingTree, he was credited with playing an essential role in the company’s resurgence.

Mandel also held the position of Managing Director at investment banking firms LLC and Bear, Stearns & Co, and Centerview Partners. Alex Mandel also added some thoughts and feelings:

“I see incredible potential in Skillz as it defines an entire industry. It’s a privilege to join Skillz’ board of directors at such a pivotal time in the company’s journey and to help accelerate its trajectory towards profitable growth.”

The Skillz platform helps developers build franchises by enabling social competition in games. The San Francisco-based company hosts casual esports tournaments with prize distribution for mobile players worldwide.
