Developed by Peak, Toon Blast became the most downloaded game on both iOS and Android platforms in Japan.

In terms of revenue, Japan is the world’s second largest market in mobile gaming. According to App Annie‘s data for the first 11 months of 2020, the revenues of the Japanese mobile app market reached $12.7 billion. $9.9 billion of these revenues are derived from mobile games. This amount corresponds to about 22% of the global mobile game market revenues.

Toon Blast achieved a striking success by completing 2020 in the first place on App Store and Google Play platform.

Peak Strategy Director Ömer İnönü, states that Toon Blast has been played in Japan since 2017. “Our Japanese users loved the Toon Blast. The Japanese mobile app market ranks second in the world after the USA. As Peak, we started to focus on Japan literally last year. In a year, while our download rate grew by 41% in the country, our revenues increased by 126% on App Store and Google Play. Seeing that our work is reciprocated in this giant market, as in the USA, makes us happy and motivates us for greater success.

Over 5 million new users

Stating that more than 5 million new users in Japan downloaded the Toon Blast in 2020, Ömer İnönü said, “We are used to seeing the new games on the most downloaded list. Toon Blast, which has a 3-year history, has achieved a very important success in this sense. The marketing activities we carry out specifically for the country have a big role in this. We will not slow down, we will achieve high visibility on TV channels in Japan with our advertising campaign, which we plan to start this month.”
