The rumors have come true: Ubisoft announced a new Assassin’s Creed mobile game that takes place in Ancient China. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will be an open-world mobile-only game, and players will be able to create their own characters for the first time in the history of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The game will only support touch controls (at least that’s the impression Ubisoft left on viewers) but will play like the original Assassin’s Creed games, meaning the gameplay will heavily focus on stealth, parkour, and assassinations.

Ubisoft said players will be able to parkour across the iconic Great Wall of China as well as some other key buildings and locations. The video games giant only showed an “in-engine” trailer so far, no gameplay videos or other information were shared at this time.

Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Cote shared the following comment and shared what’s awaiting players in this new title;

“For the first time in our open-world games, you can create your own character. You’ll get the chance to do things like parkour atop the Great Wall of China, sneak through bustling cities, engage in intense combat, and discover the secrets and vastness of Ancient China.

The French game maker also announced a partnership with Netflix on a new “Assassin’s Creed” mobile game (a different title) as well as two other mobile games that will be available exclusively on Netflix’s gaming platform.
