Singapore-based PlayZap Games concluded the seed funding led by KuCoin Labs. The Web3 gaming platform supports all the live ops and publishing capabilities of the Web3 market and includes mobile esports-styled competitive games paired with the fungible token economy, NFTs, and blockchain wallet support. The first version of the app will be released with over ten of PlayZap’s competitive casual games across Apple’s App Store, GooglePlay, and all web desktop platforms.

The play-to-earn community-driven gaming platform will use the first round of investment to further develop the platform (both mobile and desktop), expansion of new game IPs, form new partnerships, reach a wider market, as well as expand its impact in the GameFi ecosystem. The gaming company said: “The trust from prominent investors, including KuCoin Labs, solidifies our vision to simplify play-to-earn gaming and bring it to a wider audience.”

PlayZap CEO & Cofounder, Abhishek Buchvani shared the following message about the investment:

“We see a massive opportunity in bringing a high-quality playing experience that can be enjoyed by mainstream casual gamers with a sustainable token economy & ownership. We are super thrilled and privileged to collaborate with KuCoin Labs as a strategic partner who believed in our team and vision since the start of our journey.”

Lou Yu, head of KuCoin Labs also added the following statement, sharing her trust and belief in the project:

“KuCoin Labs believes that gaming will be the gateway to the crypto mass adoption. PlayZap has provided a good opportunity for traditional web2.0 players to transit to crypto gaming easily with a leisure focus. The entire team has solid experience in web2.0 gaming with strong track records, which can be leveraged to power up the PlayZap’s ecosystem.”

PlayZap Games is a young but promising company in the Web3 market, and KuCoin was launched back in September 2017. TIn 2022, the latter “Raised over $150 million in investments through a pre-Series B round, bringing total investments to $170 million with Round A combined, at a total valuation of $10 billion.” per KuCoin’s official web page.
