YoYo Games has released the 2.3 updates for the 2D game development tool GameMaker Studio 2.

The update includes many updates from the GameMaker language to the integrated development environment. Several features also came with this update to help create new games. Besides, an asset browser was introduced into the program for convenience to developers.

YoYo Games’ general manager spoke about the GameMaker update:

“With version 2.3 of GameMaker we’ve not only changed the best practices for doing almost everything in GML but with new features like Sequences and Animation Curve we’ve introduced incredibly powerful new tools which continue to open-up GameMaker Studio 2 to people who are less experienced with code and who prefer a more visual approach to making games.”

“This ability to synchronize audio and animation and invoke instances of it at any point through game logic is going to increasingly add a huge amount of polish to games, by giving content creators a very high level of control over how their designs are implemented within the game.”

One of the most exciting features that come with the update is a new tool that allows users to add audio, animation, and visual assets. Another feature is that it will enable content creators to design cutscenes and dynamic animations without the need for a coder anymore.
